The English Compendium of practice for Commercial Dishwashing published

The English Compendium of practice for Commercial Dishwashing of the Commercial Dishwashing Working Group (Arbeitskreis Gewerbliches Geschirrspülen; AK GGS) is now newly published by Shaker Verlag. At the same time, the working group is pleased to announce two new members – the companies Bormioli Luigi S.p.A. and GKE GmbH Reinigungs- und Sterilisationsprozessüberwachung have been supporting the working group for the last few months.
English is indispensable in the field of commercial dishwashing. In day-to-day operations in commercial kitchens and community catering, in the international operations of manufacturers of cleaning products, ware washing equipment and commercial dishwashing machines and dispensers, and in the associated supplier industry, English is the common language of communication. Moreover, English is increasingly the preferred language of instruction in training programs or courses of study in disciplines such as ecotrophology, facility management or housekeeping. Across industries, customer service technicians and service engineers also like to use the handbook. The twelve chapters of the English Compendium of practice for Commercial Dishwashing provide comprehensive answers to questions on sustainability, hygiene, dosing technology, water quality, or wash ware for the target groups mentioned above. For users, such as caterers or students from industry-related courses, the German version of the handbook has already established itself as a practical tool – the English translation is a beneficial international addition. Besides the newly translated handbook, the working group's website is also available in English. The English book is available for order under ISBN- 978-3-8440-8620-1.
The central element of the AK GGS working group is knowledge transfer. The two new members will further expand the expert knowledge required for this. The Italian family company Bormioli Luigi S.p.A. has specialized in glassware since the 14th century. GKE GmbH Reinigungs- und Sterilisationsprozessüberwachung develops concepts for cleaning and sterilization process monitoring, manufactures biological and chemical indicators, and is a world leader in the development and production of test specimens.
Dr. Britta von Esmarch-Rummler (Miele & Cie. KG), chairperson of the working group, says: "We are very pleased about the new members and the future cooperation. The influence of the respective wash ware, and in this case the glassware to be washed, should not be underestimated in the overall "commercial dishwashing" system. Good cleaning results, especially flawless hygienic wash results, are a basic requirement. Glasses often receive special consideration here. Appropriate cleaning and sterilization monitoring are important and supportive in ensuring hygienic wash results. Therefore, Bormioli Luigi and GKE are profitable extensions of our working group."
Her deputy Mareike Lohmann (Chemische Fabrik Dr. Weigert) is also pleased about the addition to the working group: "Both new member companies complement the expertise and specific knowledge of the AK GGS wonderfully.
